Forthcoming OST is Aeli’s first Original Soundtrack and fourth studio project. Aiham Al Subaihi, the Emirati Director reached out to Aeli to compose the music for his movie as he’s a fan of his previous EP Zoetrope and the energy in his live sets. Aiham trusted Aeli’s vision and interpretation of the movie and asked him to be just be himself.
About the movie:
As Aiham describe it, it’s a “Bedouin Kung-Fu movie”. It’s an action comedy about a bedouin man who must keep his wife hidden not to be discovered by bandits. As conversation breaks between the bedouin and the bandit leader, the wife attempts to grab the bandits atten- tion... What actually happens in the movie is completely unexpected!
Aeli’s approach was to go for Arab EDM to set the sonic decor with desert, wind and horses sounds in a mysterious mood. A music video by Vacades, of the first song, translating the desert majesty will be out shortly after the EP. For the second track, the producer opted for for a more aggressive Trap esthetic as required by the action in the movie.
The EP includes a bonus track by KC Hamada that is not featured in the movie. At first the beat was sent to him as a reference for the mood and Aeli thought they will work on the arrangment together. The rapper married his flow perfectly to the beat and its very unusual structure and blended greatly with the intensity of the music.
Just as the desert dweller needs to be attentive in the moment with what may arise in the surroundings, KC Hamada navigated through this unprecedented cinematic beat along in its patterns with the same fervor as the films protagonist, with a clear state of mind and relying on his teachings to survive through the swings that come aboard the journey.
